100% natural, no added sulphites. I didn‟t understand this wine very well until I went to Banyuls and met the amazing Alain Castex, who makes this wine. He walked me around his extraordinary vineyards – sheer cliffs down in to the Mediterranean sea. His vineyard plots grow a variety of grapes, all interspersed with one another. Being a master botantist and wine maker, Alain can identify each grape variety on sight, though they all get blended together in making these extraordinarily unique & rustic wines. As we toured his vineyards, Alain would take handfuls of soil from different plots earth so we could smell & feel the effects of terroir. This wine – like all of Alain‟s – reflects the earthy, flower covered lands from which the grapes are grown. This wine has no preservatives at all – it‟s a full fruit experience I very very heartily recommend.
