Every season, Round Top, Texas, transforms from a quiet Hill Country town of 90 residents into one of the most celebrated destinations for design and antiques in America. For more than 50 years, The Original Round Top Antiques FairThe Big Red Barn, founded by the late Emma Lee Turney in 1968—has drawn collectors, designers, and tastemakers from around the world to experience “The Show” that started it all.

This fall, Artisan & Vine Catering was proud to participate in the Designer Day event at the Big Red Barn, serving an elegant selection of our signature lunchboxes, snacks, and refreshing Herbal Lemonade and Tea to more than 450 participants. The event brought together leading interior designers, shop owners, and artisans in a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and community.

Honoring Texas Heritage and Hospitality

Round Top’s story—and that of its newest stewards, the Layne Family—resonates deeply with our own. Native Houstonians and sixth-generation Texans, Penny and Paul Layne, with their children Corey, Stephanie & Caroline, have infused their venues with a blend of authenticity, design, and Southern warmth that aligns perfectly with our Artisan & Vine philosophy.

The Laynes

Since acquiring Blue Hills at Round Top in 2018, the Layne Family has expanded the venue by over 40,000 square feet and increased attendance by 39%. This growth outpaces the average show’s growth nearly threefold and sets a new standard for curated market experiences. Their recent acquisition of The Original Round Top Antiques Fair - Big Red Barn marks an exciting new chapter. This chapter honors the event’s heritage while embracing a modern vision for the future.

Fun fact: Penny and Paul Layne introduced Jeannine Holland, founder of Artisan & Vine, to her husband Jay, over 45 years ago. Today, the families’ next generation—Andrew Holland, Director of Operations at Artisan & Vine, and Corey Layne, who oversees operations for the Layne Family venues—continue the collaboration, coordinating efforts for our vintage Airstream Event Trailer and on-site catering presence at Blue Hills.

A Taste of Artisan & Vine

For Designer Day 2025, our team curated a menu of fresh, chef-crafted meals and snacks, designed to travel beautifully and deliver the signature Artisan & Vine quality guests have come to love—homemade, just not by you. Paired with our refreshing Herbal Lemonade and Tea, the menu celebrated the flavors and hospitality that define our brand.

Our vintage Airstream Event Trailer, stationed at Blue Hills at Round Top, offered visitors a glimpse into the expanding world of Artisan & Vine Hospitality—where design, food, and experience come together in perfect harmony.

Looking Ahead

We’re honored to be part of the Round Top story and look forward to continuing our partnership with the Layne Family as they reimagine The Original Round Top Antiques Fair. For Artisan & Vine, Round Top isn’t just an event—it’s a reflection of everything we value: heritage, design, craftsmanship, and connection through food.
